Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually whisk in the milk and continue cooking until the mixture thickens, about 3-5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese and Seasonings

Remove the pot from heat, and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce, stirring well to combine.

  5. 5

    Prepare for Baking

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour the mac and cheese into a greased baking dish. Top with breadcrumbs to create a crunchy topping.

  6. 6

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm. Enjoy your standing mac & cheese!
