Baking Instructions
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- 3
Cut in Butter
Using a pastry cutter or your fingers, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 4
Add Peaches
Gently fold in the diced peaches until evenly distributed.
- 5
Combine Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and egg.
- 6
Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- 7
Shape the Dough
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat it into a circle about 1 inch thick. Cut into wedges or use a biscuit cutter.
- 8
Bake the Scones
Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with additional sugar. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- 9
Cool and Serve
Allow the scones to cool slightly on a wire rack before serving warm.
