Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into even strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep fryer or a large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain and dry the soaked potatoes thoroughly. Carefully add a batch of potatoes to the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

  5. 5

    Season the Fries

Remove the fries from the oil and drain them on paper towels. While they are still hot, sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the housemade fries immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
