Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Meatball Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground lamb, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped figs, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
- 3
Sear the Meatballs
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, add the meatballs and sear on all sides until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- 4
Braise the Meatballs
In the same skillet, add white wine and scrape any browned bits from the bottom. Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 20 minutes until cooked through.
- 5
Prepare the Yogurt Sauce
In a small bowl, mix plain yogurt with a pinch of salt and some chopped fresh herbs (like dill or mint) to taste.
- 6
Serve
Serve the braised meatballs warm, drizzled with the yogurt sauce, and garnished with extra herbs if desired.
