Ahi Tuna

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Tuna

In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Add the Ahi tuna steaks and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Tuna

Heat a grill or a skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the tuna from the marinade and grill or sear it for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Coconut Rice

In a pot, combine 1 cup of jasmine rice, 1 cup of coconut milk, and a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, cover, and cook for 15 minutes. Fluff with a fork and stir in chopped scallions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.

  4. 4

    Serve

Plate the Ahi tuna alongside the coconut rice and garnish with additional sesame seeds and scallions as desired.
