Method

Prepare the Burger

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground sirloin, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty that is slightly wider than the buns, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a shallow indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Cook the Burgers

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add a little oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes on the other side. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 5

    Cook the Bacon (if using)

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash the lettuce leaf and slice the tomato. Prepare pickles and set all toppings aside.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 7

    Build the Burger

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster. On the bottom half of each bun, layer the lettuce, the cooked patty with melted cheese, bacon (if using), tomato slice, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
