Prepare the Burger

Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground sirloin, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty that is slightly wider than the buns, about 3/4 inch thick. Make a shallow indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Cook the Bacon (if using)
In a separate skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
