Method
Preparation of Chicken
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts and coat them well with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- 2
Preheat the Grill
While the chicken is marinating, preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Grilling the Chicken
- 3
Grill the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- 4
Melt the Cheese
In the last minute of grilling, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each chicken breast to melt.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 5
Prepare the Buns
Toast the burger or sandwich buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- 6
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread mayonnaise and mustard on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf, grilled chicken with melted cheese, sliced tomato, and top with the other half of the bun.
Preparing the Sides (Optional)
- 7
Prepare the Sides
Choose your preferred side: serve French fries hot, coleslaw chilled, or potato salad at room temperature alongside the sandwich.
