Queso Sauce
Method
Preparing the Filling
- 1
Cook the Ground Beef
In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned and cooked through, approximately 7-10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
- 2
Add Seasoning
Season the cooked ground beef with salt and pepper to taste. Stir well and remove from heat.
Making Queso Sauce
- 3
Melt Cheese Mixture
In a saucepan over medium-low heat, combine the cream cheese and milk. Stir until the cream cheese has fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
- 4
Add Remaining Ingredients
Add the shredded Monterey Jack cheese, diced green chilies, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir continuously until the cheese has melted and the sauce is creamy. Remove from heat.
Assembling the Burrito
- 5
Layer the Ingredients
On each large flour tortilla, spoon half a cup of refried beans in the center, followed by half of the cooked ground beef, and topped with one cup of shredded cheese.
- 6
Roll the Burrito
Fold in the sides of the tortilla over the filling, then roll from the bottom up to form a burrito. Make sure it's tightly wrapped.
Serving
- 7
Serve with Queso Sauce
Place the burrito on a plate and drizzle generously with the creamy queso sauce. Serve hot and enjoy!
