Toppings

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground sirloin, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined; avoid overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a large patty, about 1 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging while cooking.

Cook the Burgers

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Char Broil the Patties

Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Toast the Buns

While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese. Add the bacon slices (if using), tomato slice, pickle slices, and your choice of ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
