Wings
Buffalo Sauce
Method
Preparing the Wings
- 1
Clean the Wings
Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Season the Wings
In a large bowl, toss the wings with salt and black pepper until evenly coated.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep fryer or large pot, heat the vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).
- 4
Fry the Wings
Carefully add the wings to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 5
Drain the Wings
Remove the wings from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Making the Buffalo Sauce
- 6
Melt the Butter
In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter.
- 7
Combine Ingredients
Once melted, add the hot sauce, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, honey, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
- 8
Simmer the Sauce
Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat.
Tossing the Wings
- 9
Coat the Wings
In a large bowl, combine the fried wings with the buffalo sauce. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
- 10
Serve
Transfer the wings to a serving platter and serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce (like ranch or blue cheese) and celery sticks.
