Enchilada Sauce

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Ground Beef

In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Season the Beef

Add the taco seasoning to the cooked ground beef, along with a splash of water. Stir to combine and let it simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the mixture is thickened.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Tortillas

Warm the flour tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until pliable. This will make them easier to roll.

Assembling the Burrito

  1. 4

    Fill the Tortilla

Place a warm tortilla on a flat surface. Spread 1/4 cup of refried beans in the center, followed by 1/4 of the seasoned ground beef, and top with 1/2 cup of shredded Monterey Jack cheese.

  2. 5

    Roll the Burrito

Fold the sides of the tortilla inwards over the filling, then roll from the bottom up to enclose everything tightly. Repeat for the remaining tortillas.

Baking

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 7

    Prepare for Baking

Spread a thin layer of enchilada sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place the rolled burritos seam-side down in the dish.

  3. 8

    Top with Sauce and Cheese

Pour the remaining enchilada sauce over the burritos, ensuring they are well covered. Sprinkle the remaining Monterey Jack cheese on top.

  4. 9

    Bake

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
