Method

Preparing the Ribs

  1. 1

    Season the Ribs

Pat the pork loin ribs dry with paper towels. Season both sides of the ribs evenly with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Brown the Ribs

In a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat, add a small amount of oil. Once hot, add the ribs and sear them for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove the ribs from the skillet and set aside.

Making the Teriyaki Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.

  2. 4

    Thicken the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Slowly add this mixture to the saucepan while stirring continuously. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.

Braising the Ribs

  1. 5

    Combine Ribs and Sauce

In a large baking dish or Dutch oven, place the browned ribs and pour the teriyaki sauce over them, ensuring they are well-coated.

  2. 6

    Braise the Ribs

Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil and place it in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C). Braise for about 2-2.5 hours until the ribs are tender and easily pull away from the bone.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Ribs

Once cooked, remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve hot, drizzled with extra teriyaki sauce if desired, and enjoy!
