Dough Preparation
1. Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
2. Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.
3. Combine Ingredients
Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
4. Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
5. Let Dough Rise
Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
Assemble and Bake
6. Preheat Oven

7. Shape the Dough
Once risen, punch down the dough and transfer it to a floured surface. Roll it out to your desired thickness.

Transfer the rolled-out dough to a baking sheet or pizza stone. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the surface, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, sliced pepperoni, and oregano.
9. Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
10. Garnish and Serve
Remove from oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve hot.
