Method

Preparation of Base

  1. 1

    Juicing the Lemons

Cut the lemons in half and use a juicer to extract the juice. You should have about 1 cup of lemon juice.

  2. 2

    Making the Sugar Syrup

In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of water and 1 cup of granulated sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Combining Flavors

  1. 3

    Mix the Base

In a large pitcher, combine the fresh lemon juice with the cooled sugar syrup. Stir well to mix.

  2. 4

    Adding Flavor Enhancers

Chop the fresh ginger finely and add it to the pitcher along with the fresh mint leaves and lime juice. Stir gently to combine.

Serving the Sour Surprise

  1. 5

    Chilling

Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes to chill. This allows the flavors to meld together.

  2. 6

    Pour and Garnish

Pour the chilled mixture into 10 oz tulip glasses. Garnish each glass with a lemon slice and a mint sprig.

  3. 7

    Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy the tart and refreshing Sour Surprise!
