Sausages

Mashed Potatoes

Onion Gravy

Method

Cooking the Sausages

  1. 1

    Prepare the sausages

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the pork sausages and cook until browned on all sides, about 12-15 minutes.

Making the Mashed Potatoes

  1. 2

    Boil the potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Place them in a large pot, cover with water, and add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 3

    Mash the potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Making the Onion Gravy

  1. 4

    Sauté the onions

In a separate saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Thinly slice the onion and add it to the pan. Sauté until caramelized and golden brown, about 10-15 minutes.

  2. 5

    Prepare the gravy

Sprinkle flour over the onions and stir to combine. Gradually whisk in the beef broth, ensuring no lumps. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for about 5-7 minutes until thickened.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate and serve

On a serving plate, place a generous scoop of mashed potatoes, top with sausages, and drizzle with onion gravy. Serve hot.
