Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess grease. Once cooled, chop the bacon into small pieces.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Onion

In the same skillet, remove excess bacon grease, leaving about 1 tablespoon. Add the chopped yellow onion and sauté over medium heat until translucent and soft, about 5-7 minutes.

Mixing the Dip

  1. 3

    Combine Base Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Mix well until smooth and creamy.

  2. 4

    Add Flavor Enhancers

Stir in the cooked bacon pieces, sautéed onions, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt to the cream cheese mixture. Mix until well combined.

Baking the Dip

  1. 5

    Prepare for Baking

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the dip mixture to a baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the dip.

  3. 7

    Bake

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the cheese is melted.

Serving

  1. 8

    Garnish

Remove the dip from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

  2. 9

    Enjoy

Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced vegetables.
