Method

Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Brats

In a skillet over medium heat, add the German brats and cook for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add olive oil. Once heated, add sliced bell peppers and onions. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are soft and slightly caramelized. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Hoagies

Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise but not all the way through. Place one brat in each roll, top with the sautéed peppers and onions, and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese.

  4. 4

    Melt the Cheese

Place the assembled hoagies under a broiler for about 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese melts and is bubbly. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove from the oven and serve immediately while hot.
