Method
Preparing the Tartar Sauce
- 1
Mix Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, chopped pickles, lemon juice, and chopped capers. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Preparing the Fries
- 2
Cut and Fry Potatoes
Peel the potatoes and cut them into thick strips. Rinse the strips in cold water, then dry them with a kitchen towel. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt.
Preparing the Beer-Battered Fish
- 3
Prepare the Batter
In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Slowly add the beer, stirring until the batter is smooth and thick.
- 4
Fry the Fish
Dip each fish fillet into the batter, allowing excess to drip off. Carefully place the battered fish into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
