Directions

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Grease four ramekins with butter and dust with flour.

  2. 2

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a heatproof bowl, combine dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or in the microwave in short bursts, stirring until smooth.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, egg yolks, and granulated sugar until pale and slightly thickened. Stir in the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Add Dry Ingredients

Gently fold in the all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

  5. 5

    Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

  6. 6

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

  7. 7

    Cool and Serve

Remove from the oven and let sit for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a plate. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
