For the Beef Patty

For Assembly

Method

Prepare the Beef Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until well combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the cheese melts and the patties reach your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burgers

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, place a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato (sliced from the large tomato), and then the cooked patty with melted cheese on top. Add ketchup and mustard to taste.

  3. 7

    Finish Assembly

Top each burger with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately.
