Dumpling Filling
Method
Making Pork Gyoza
- 1
Prepare the Filling
In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, green onions, cabbage, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- 2
Fill the Gyoza Wrappers
Take a gyoza wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold it in half, and pinch the edges to seal. You can create pleats for a decorative touch.
- 3
Cook the Gyoza
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Once hot, place the gyoza in the skillet, flat side down. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown. Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet, cover, and steam for 5 minutes until the water has evaporated.
- 4
Serve
Remove the gyoza from the skillet and serve hot with soy sauce or dipping sauce of choice.
