In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and knead until smooth, about 10 minutes. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Form Bao
Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 5 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a circle, about 4 inches in diameter. Place a spoonful of filling in the center, fold the dough over, and pinch to seal.

Steam Bao
Prepare a steamer and line it with parchment paper. Place the bao in the steamer, cover, and steam for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
