Fries

Sloppy Joe Mixture

Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the frozen French fries package, typically around 200°C (400°F).

  2. 2

Spread the frozen French fries evenly on a large baking sheet.

  3. 3

Drizzle the vegetable oil over the fries and sprinkle with salt.

  4. 4

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until they are crispy and golden brown, turning halfway through.

Making the Sloppy Joe Mixture

  1. 5

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 6

Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 4-5 minutes.

  3. 7

Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.

  4. 8

Reduce the heat to low and simmer the mixture for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened.

Assembling the Sloppy Fries

  1. 9

Once the fries are done baking, remove them from the oven and place them on a large serving platter.

  2. 10

Spoon the sloppy joe mixture generously over the fries.

  3. 11

Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the sloppy joe mixture.

  4. 12

Return the platter to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

  5. 13

Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
