Method

Preparation of Salad Base

  1. 1

    Rehydrate the Seaweed

Place the dried wakame seaweed in a bowl and cover it with warm water. Let it soak for about 10 minutes until it expands and becomes tender. Drain and squeeze out excess water.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

While the seaweed is soaking, thinly slice the cucumber, julienne the carrot, and chop the radish. Combine all the vegetables in a large mixing bowl.

Making the Dressing

  1. 3

    Combine Dressing Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, and chili flakes until the sugar is dissolved.

  2. 4

Incorporate Sesame Seeds and Green Onions

Add the sesame seeds and finely chopped green onions to the dressing mixture and stir well.

Combining and Serving

  1. 5

    Mix Salad

Add the rehydrated seaweed to the bowl with the sliced vegetables. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss everything together until well combined.

  2. 6

    Serve

Transfer the seaweed salad to a serving dish. Optionally, sprinkle additional sesame seeds on top for garnish. Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving.
