Preparing the Broth

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the dashi stock and let it simmer for about 5 minutes to infuse the flavor.

Reduce the heat to low. In a small bowl, mix the miso paste with a ladle of hot broth until smooth, then stir this mixture back into the pot. Make sure not to boil the soup after adding miso.

Slice the green onions into thin rings, separating the white parts from the green tops.
