Method

Mac & Cheese

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk constantly for about 1 minute to form a roux. Slowly add the milk while continuing to whisk to prevent lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Cheese and Seasoning

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese until melted. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir until well combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until the pasta is evenly coated. Serve warm.

French Fries

  1. 5

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to form fries.

  2. 6

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 7

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add a batch of fries to the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  4. 8

    Season the Fries

While the fries are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste. Repeat the frying process with the remaining potatoes.
