Method
Preparation of Crispy Green Beans
- 1
Prepare the Green Beans
Rinse the fresh green beans under cold water, trim the ends, and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- 2
Make the Tempura Batter
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt. Gradually whisk in the cold sparkling water until the batter is smooth and slightly thick.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).
- 4
Batter the Green Beans
Dip each green bean into the tempura batter, ensuring they are well coated.
- 5
Fry the Green Beans
Carefully place the battered green beans into the hot oil in small batches, frying them for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.
Preparation of Spicy Dipping Sauce
- 6
Combine Ingredients
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, Sriracha sauce, honey, lime juice, and minced garlic until well combined.
- 7
Serve
Transfer the dipping sauce to a serving bowl and serve it alongside the crispy green beans.
