Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until the seasonings are evenly distributed.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill/skillet and cook for about 4 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burger reaches your desired doneness.

Assembling the Cheeseburger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Toppings

While the patties are cooking, wash and dry the lettuce leaves. Slice the tomato into thick rounds.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom half of each burger bun. Place a cooked patty with melted cheese on top, followed by the lettuce leaves and tomato slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
