Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Burger Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steakburger patty with salt and pepper. Cook the patty for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip it.

  2. 2

    Add Cheese

Once flipped, place the slice of smoked Gouda cheese on top of the patty. Cook for another 4-5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.

Bacon and Onions

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the hickory smoked bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess fat.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Onions

In the same skillet, add sliced onions and sauté in the bacon fat until caramelized, about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Prepare the Ciabatta Bun

Slice the ciabatta bun in half and lightly toast it on the grill or in a toaster for added texture.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Burger

Spread smoky mayo on the bottom half of the bun. Place the cooked burger patty with melted gouda on top, followed by the crispy bacon and sautéed onions. Cover with the top half of the ciabatta bun.
