Method

Prepare the Patty

  1. 1

    Shape the Patty

Take the 1/2-lb steakburger patty and shape it into a round, flat disc. Season both sides with salt and black pepper to taste.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patty

Grill or pan-fry the patty over medium-high heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired doneness.

Cook the Bacon

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In the same pan or on the grill, cook the 3 slices of hickory smoked bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Sauté the Onions

  1. 4

    Sauté the Onions

Slice the medium onion and sauté in the same pan used for the bacon over medium heat until soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

Make Smoky Mayo

  1. 5

    Mix Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Build the Burger

On the ciabatta bun, spread a generous amount of smoky mayo on the bottom half. Place the cooked steakburger patty on top, followed by the two slices of smoked gouda cheese, three slices of crispy bacon, and the sautéed onions. Top with the other half of the bun.
