Fry the hushpuppies
Using a spoon or small ice cream scoop, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, turning occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Fries

Prepare the potatoes
Cut the potatoes into strips and soak them in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

Heat oil
In a deep fryer or pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the fries
Drain and pat the potato strips dry. Fry them in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels, then season with salt to taste.
House-made Ranch Dressing

Mix the ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, dried dill weed, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.

Chill the dressing
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
