Method
Marinating the Steak

Prepare the Marinade
In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, and black pepper until the sugar is dissolved.

Marinate the Steak
Place the steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish, pour the marinade over the steak, seal or cover, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
Pickling the Onions

Prepare the Pickling Liquid
In a small saucepan, combine white vinegar, water, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat.

Making the Chimichurri Sauce

Combine Ingredients
In a food processor, combine chopped parsley, cilantro, minced garlic, red wine vinegar, olive oil, red pepper flakes, and salt.

Blend the Sauce
Pulse until combined but still slightly chunky. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
Making the Smoky Mayo

Mix Ingredients
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, smoked paprika, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth and well combined.

Prepare the Bread
Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and lightly toast it if desired.

Layer the Ingredients
Spread a generous layer of smoky mayo on both sides of the bread. Add shredded romaine lettuce, sliced steak, pickled red onions, and drizzle chimichurri sauce on top.

Close the sandwich, slice into portions if desired, and serve immediately.
