Method

Preparing Croutons

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare Bread

Cut the slices of bread into small cubes, approximately 1-inch in size.

  3. 3

    Season Bread

In a mixing bowl, combine the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Toss until the bread is evenly coated.

  4. 4

    Bake Croutons

Spread the seasoned bread cubes onto a baking sheet in a single layer and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Stir halfway through to ensure even cooking.

Making Caesar Dressing

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, add mayonnaise, lemon juice, anchovy paste, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, and grated Parmesan cheese.

  2. 6

    Whisk Dressing

Whisk the ingredients together until well combined and smooth. Season with black pepper to taste.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 7

    Chop Romaine

Wash the Romaine lettuce thoroughly, then chop it into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 8

    Combine Salad Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, add the chopped Romaine lettuce, grated Parmesan cheese, and homemade croutons.

  3. 9

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine, ensuring all ingredients are coated.

  4. 10

    Serve

Serve immediately, garnishing with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
