Method

Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the mixture into a 1/2 lb patty, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patty for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer to your desired doneness.

Toppings

  1. 4

    Prepare the Toppings

While the patty is cooking, wash and prepare the lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles. Slice the tomato and onion into thin, even slices.

Bun

  1. 5

    Toast the Bun

Optionally, toast the brioche bun on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown for added flavor and texture.

Assemble

  1. 6

    Build the Burger

Once the patty is cooked to your liking, place it on the bottom half of the toasted brioche bun. Layer with lettuce, tomato, onion, and house-made pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
