Tortilla Chips
Fresh Salsa
Method
Making Tortilla Chips
- 1
Prepare the Tortillas
Cut each corn tortilla into 6 equal triangles using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter.
- 2
Heat the Oil
In a large, deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until hot (around 350°F or 175°C).
- 3
Fry the Chips
Carefully add a batch of tortilla triangles to the hot oil, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
- 4
Drain and Season
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fried chips and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.
Making Fresh Salsa

- 6

In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro.
- 7
Add Flavor
Stir in the lime juice and sprinkle with salt. Mix well to combine all ingredients.
- 8
Let it Sit
Allow the salsa to sit for at least 15 minutes at room temperature to let the flavors meld together.
