Preparation Steps
- 1
Marinate the Beef
In a large bowl, combine the tri-tip beef, brisket, white vinegar, lemon juice, salt, and allspice. Mix well, ensuring the meats are thoroughly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- 2
Prepare the Onions
While the meat is marinating, thinly slice the onion and set aside.
- 3
Cook the Beef
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Remove the beef from the marinade and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (medium rare) or 160°F (medium).
- 4
Slice the Beef
Once cooked, remove the beef from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes. Then, slice the beef thinly against the grain.
- 5
Assemble the Shawarma
Serve the sliced beef with the prepared onions, and your choice of pita bread or flatbread. You can add toppings like garlic sauce, tahini, or fresh vegetables if desired.
