Method

Prepare the Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Mix the Beef

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until the spices are evenly distributed throughout the meat.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of smoky cheddar cheese on each patty and cover to allow the cheese to melt.

Assemble the Burgers

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Add a layer of lettuce, followed by a cheesy patty, slices of tomato, red onion, and pickles. Drizzle ketchup on top before placing the top half of the bun.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve the Smoky Cheddar Stacks immediately with your favorite side dishes.
