Method

Preparation

1

Prepare the Cheese Curds

Place the white cheddar cheese curds in a bowl and set aside to prepare the batter and coating.

2

Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Gradually add the egg mixture to the flour mixture, stirring until you have a smooth batter.

Coating

3

Prepare the Breadcrumbs

In a small pan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and mix in the breadcrumbs until well coated.

4

Coat the Cheese Curds

Dip each cheese curd into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off, then roll them in the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.

Frying

5

Heat the Oil

In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 180°C (350°F).

6

Fry the Cheese Curds

Carefully add the coated cheese curds to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for about 3-4 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Serving

7

Serve Hot

Serve the fried cheese curds immediately while they're hot and gooey, preferably with your favorite dipping sauce.
