Beef Patties

Buns and Toppings

Method

Beef Patties Preparation

  1. 1

    Shape the Patties

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently to combine, being careful not to overwork the meat. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into round patties, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and place a slice of cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patties reach your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 3

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half. If desired, toast the buns on the grill or skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  2. 4

    Add Toppings

On the bottom half of each bun, place a leaf of lettuce, followed by the cooked beef patty with melted cheese. Top with a slice of tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard as desired. Place the top half of the bun on each assembled burger.

  3. 5

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately while hot, with additional toppings on the side if desired.
