- 1
Brown the Butter
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma, about 5-7 minutes. Be careful not to burn it.
- 2
Prepare the Shaker
In a cocktail shaker, add the brown butter (strained to remove solids), mezcal, reposado tequila, Nixta liquor, balsamic vinegar, mole bitters, and cherry bitters.
- 3
Add Ice
Fill the shaker with ice, ensuring it is at least three-quarters full to chill the mixture properly.
- 4
Shake the Cocktail
Secure the lid on the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
- 5
Taste and Adjust
Taste the mixture and add salt to taste if necessary. Shake again briefly to combine.
- 6
Strain and Serve
Strain the cocktail into a chilled coupe or rocks glass, discarding the ice from the shaker.
- 7
Garnish
If desired, garnish with a cherry or a twist of citrus peel for added aroma and presentation.
