Base

Method

Preparation of Base

  1. 1

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the grapefruit juice and orange blossom water until combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.

  4. 4

    Add Coffee and Nuts

Fold in the ground coffee and macadamia nuts gently into the batter, ensuring they are evenly distributed.

  5. 5

    Bake

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  6. 6

    Cool

Once baked, allow the loaf to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Garnishing and Serving

  1. 7

    Prepare Garnish

While the loaf is cooling, prepare the garnish by mixing together the grapefruit zest and chopped macadamia nuts in a small bowl.

  2. 8

    Serve

Once the loaf is completely cool, dust the top with powdered sugar. Sprinkle the grapefruit zest and macadamia nut mixture over the top for added flavor and decor. Slice and serve with a cup of coffee or tea.
