Gelato
Espresso
Method
Gelato Preparation
Scoop the Gelato
Take out 1 cup of Frank's Vanilla Bean Gelato from the freezer and let it sit for a minute to soften slightly. Using an ice cream scoop, place the gelato into a serving bowl or glass.
Espresso Preparation
Brew the Espresso
Measure 2 tablespoons of espresso coffee beans and grind them finely. Using an espresso machine, brew a double shot (approximately 60 ml) of espresso by adding the ground coffee to the portafilter and tamping it down firmly. Attach it to the machine and start the brewing process.
Assembly
Combine the Gelato and Espresso
Once the espresso is brewed, immediately pour the hot espresso over the scoop of gelato in the serving bowl or glass. The hot espresso will melt the gelato slightly, creating a delicious contrast of temperatures.
Serve Immediately
Serve the affogato immediately with a spoon. Optionally, you can garnish with chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder for added flavor.
