Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the sweet onions and bell peppers into thin strips.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced steak with olive oil, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well to coat the steak.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Grill the Vegetables

In a large skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add the sliced sweet onions and bell peppers. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and slightly caramelized. Remove from skillet and set aside.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

In the same skillet, add the seasoned steak. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until the steak is browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Make sure to stir frequently.

  3. 5

    Combine Steak and Vegetables

Return the grilled vegetables to the skillet with the steak. Stir to combine and heat through for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  4. 6

    Melt the Cheese

Place the slices of provolone cheese over the steak and vegetable mixture. Cover the skillet and let it sit for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Hoagies

Slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise. Fill each roll with the steak and vegetable mixture topped with melted provolone cheese.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve hot and enjoy your Philly sandwiches!
