Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Lettuce

Wash the lettuce leaves thoroughly under cold water. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or use a salad spinner to remove excess moisture. Tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Chop the Tomato

Slice the tomato into thin rounds or wedges, depending on your preference. If desired, remove the seeds for a less watery salad. Add the chopped tomato to the bowl with the lettuce.

  3. 3

    Slice the Onion

Peel the onion and slice it thinly. You can choose to use red onion for a milder flavor or yellow onion for a stronger taste. Add the sliced onion to the mixing bowl.

Assembly

  1. 4

    Mix the Ingredients

Gently toss the lettuce, tomato, and onion together in the mixing bowl to combine evenly.

  2. 5

    Add the Mayo

Spoon the mayonnaise over the mixed salad. Using a spatula or tongs, fold the mayo into the salad until all ingredients are well coated.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Salad

Transfer the salad to a serving platter or individual bowls. You can garnish with additional herbs or spices if desired. Enjoy your refreshing 'Hula' salad!
