Method

Cooking the Protein

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak or Chicken

Choose either steak or chicken. If using steak, tenderize it by pounding it gently. For chicken, ensure it's boneless and skinless. Season lightly with salt and pepper.

  2. 2

    Cook the Protein

In a skillet over medium-high heat, add a little oil. Once hot, place the steak or chicken in the skillet. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked (steak should reach an internal temperature of 145°F for medium rare, chicken should be 165°F).

  3. 3

    Add Teriyaki Sauce

Once the protein is cooked, reduce heat to medium-low. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the protein and toss to coat evenly. Allow it to simmer for about 2-3 minutes, letting the sauce thicken slightly.

Assembling the Dish

  1. 4

    Prepare the Cheese

While the protein is simmering in the teriyaki sauce, prepare the Swiss cheese by laying out the slices.

  2. 5

    Serve the Protein

Once the teriyaki sauce has thickened, remove the skillet from heat. Place the protein on a serving plate and top each piece with a slice of Swiss cheese, allowing it to melt slightly from the heat.

  3. 6

    Garnish

Chop the green onions finely and sprinkle over the dish. Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds for added flavor and texture.
