Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Once done, place them on a paper towel to drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Ham

While the bacon is cooking, slice the ham into thin strips or small cubes, as per your preference.

  3. 3

    Chop the Vegetables

Wash the lettuce and tear it into bite-sized pieces. Slice the fresh tomato into rounds or wedges.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Cheese

If using block cheddar cheese, grate or slice it into thin pieces.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Build the Sandwich

On a plate or sandwich board, start by laying down the lettuce as the base. Add the cooked bacon slices followed by the ham. Top with fresh tomato slices, and spread mayonnaise over the top. Finally, add the cheddar cheese.

  2. 6

    Serve

If desired, you can add another slice of bread on top to create a sandwich. Cut in half and serve immediately.
