Method

For the French Toast

  1. 1

    Prepare the Custard

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Soak the Bread

Dip each slice of challah bread into the custard mixture, allowing each side to soak for about 30 seconds. Ensure the bread is well coated but not overly soggy.

  3. 3

    Cook the French Toast

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once hot, add the soaked challah slices and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and keep warm.

For the Halvah Crumble

  1. 4

    Prepare the Crumble

In a medium bowl, crumble the halvah with your fingers. Mix in the all-purpose flour and brown sugar until it resembles a coarse crumb. Add melted butter and mix until combined.

  2. 5

    Bake the Crumble

Spread the crumble mixture on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes, or until the edges are slightly crispy. Remove and let cool.

For the Berries

  1. 6

    Prepare the Berries

Rinse the mixed berries under cold water and drain. Pat dry with a paper towel and set aside.
