Chowder Ingredients

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a large pot, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until it's crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside, leaving the bacon fat in the pot.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same pot with the bacon fat, add the onions, celery, and garlic. Sauté until the onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Potatoes and Broth

Add the diced potatoes, chicken broth, thyme, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  4. 4

    Add Clams and Cream

Stir in the chopped clams and heavy cream. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes until heated through.

  5. 5

    Finish and Serve

Remove the bay leaf, adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste, and stir in the cooked bacon. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
