Cocktail

Method

Prepare Glass

1

Optional salted rim

If you prefer a salted rim, rub a lime wedge around the glass rim, then dip the rim into coarse salt or smoked salt to coat lightly. Set the glass aside.

Mix Cocktail

2

Add Don Julio 70 Añejo Claro tequila (2 oz), fresh lime juice (0.75 oz), Cointreau (0.5 oz) and agave syrup (0.5 oz) into a cocktail shaker.

3

Fill the shaker with ice (about 1 cup).

4

Shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the outside of the shaker is very cold and well-chilled.

5

Double-strain (if desired) into the prepared chilled coupe or rocks glass over fresh ice (for on-the-rocks serve) or without ice (for up) using a fine mesh strainer to remove shards of ice and any pulp.

Garnish & Serve

6

Express a lime peel over the drink to release oils, then rub the peel on the rim and drop it in, or float a lime wheel on top. Optionally sprinkle a small pinch (about 1/8 tsp) of fine lime zest over the drink for aroma.

7

Serve immediately. Recommended glass: chilled coupe for a more refined presentation or an Old Fashioned glass with one large ice cube if served on the rocks.
