Method
Cocktail
- 1
Prepare glass (optional)
If you prefer a salted rim, rub a lime wedge around the rim of a rocks glass and dip the rim into a shallow plate of coarse sea salt. Set the glass aside.
- 2
Fill a cocktail shaker with the ice.
- 3
Add 2 oz Clase Azul Reposado, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.5 oz agave nectar, 0.5 oz orange liqueur, 0.5 oz fresh orange juice, and 2 dashes Angostura bitters to the shaker.
- 4
Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold and exterior is frosty. This chills and dilutes the cocktail to balance the reposado's warmth.
- 5
Double-strain (or single strain if preferred) into the prepared rocks glass over one large ice cube or into a chilled coupe if you prefer served up.
Garnish
- 6
Express the oils of an orange twist over the cocktail by holding the twist skin-side down above the drink and giving it a quick snap, then drop the twist onto the surface.
- 7
Float a lime wheel on the edge of the glass or serve on the rim. Serve immediately.
